Extra tips to always stay productive

Before saying goodbye, I would like to give you some extra advice to include in your daily routine in order to always keep your concentration high and consequently increase your productivity .

  • Avoid distractions . (the coffee machine calling you, Netflix, the Amazon courier, the neighbor who has run out of sugar, the friend who comes to see you because “I knew you were home anyway”… ) but we try to avoid at least the distractions for which we are directly responsible
  • I know that if you work at home it’s very difficult

  • Check emails at set times
  • If you leave the notifications on, it may happen that as soon as you see a new email, you get anxious for a reply. And you find yourself either interrupting what you’re doing to respond or keep thinking about what you’re going to respond. An email that you know is there, unread, can in fact deplete your attentional resources as your brain keeps thinking about it, distracting you from what you’re doing. Then close the e-mail box and open it only at predefined moments, such as before starting work and before disconnecting from work
  • Turn off push notificationsJust like email, cell phone notifications are bad
  • They distract you from what you are France Phone Number List doing and leave you anxious about having to watch/answer. Detach everything: no social, WhatsApp or app notifications while you’re working.
There are also tools that help you with this, such as FocusMe , a tool that helps you stop multitasking and not get distracted by apps, websites and various notifications
  • Delete all newsletters that you don’t need and subscribe only to those that really interest you

  • Keep everything organised . And I don’t mean just externally to your pc but internally as well. Do not pile files on your desktop but organize them in folders. Use tools that can be effective for your organization such as Google Drive , Cloud Invoices and so on
  • Avoid multitasking . Several studies show that multitasking people are generally less productive and less accurate than monotasking ones. So always focus on one thing at a time. One book that helped me tremendously in overcoming my compulsive multitasking syndrome was One Thing by Gary Keller . I recommend it!
